    1. Thank you, Diane, for taking time to visit and leave a comment. His Kingdom Come looks like a great community with a lot to offer anyone learning and loving faith art / Bible Art Journaling. :-)

  2. My Bible does not have that wide an area along the edge - only about an inch and it's crammed with rubrics and personal notes. I use a parallel NIV and KJV so would have to cover up something. It is beginning to fall apart so it may be time for a new one. Who is the publisher of yours?

    1. Hi Melanie!
The Bible I use is the Crossway ESV 2 column Journaling Bible. Crossway is the publisher.I like the size and the hard cover. It has an elastic band to keep it closed so it is perfect for carrying in my purse. I hope this helps! ~Joanie

  3. Joan,

I'm new to the concept of Bible Art Journaling. I wanted to start art journaling but find that when I add a "Bible" (or "Praise" or "Worship Song") element it means so much more. It really helps me to meditate on scripture. Even if I don't memorize the verse (which sometimes happens by "mistake"! :-) the basic concept is easy to bring to mind because of the visual art. I guess I'm just a visual person!

I have looked for a class in my area, mostly to find other people to work (play!) on my journal with, but I'm not finding anything. I'm thinking of offering a class at my church, even though I don't really know what I'm doing. I figure we can learn together, especially since there's no wrong way to do this. Which brings me to my question: Could I print out the handouts from your Bible Art Journaling 101 class to use in our class? As I said, I don't really know what I'm doing and your materials would give us a place to start (and some beautiful pictures to inspire us as well). This would be a free, open to the public, offered at our church event. Your class is offered free online (Thank You!), but I don't want to use it in printed form without your permission.

In any case, thanks for offering inspiration and help to those of us just getting started!

    Kari

P.S. I see some previous comments about what Bible to use. I think this is a great use of a Bible that is falling apart--extends its life, and who cares if things get covered up? I also use a separate journal so I can have heavier weight paper that can stand up to mixed media.

    1. Kari, thank you for your willingness to get a group together and work through learning this rewarding way to worship!
I appreciate you asking about the handouts and of course you can use them. I am here to encourage others to dive in and explore this --and everyone will have their own way to express themselves. Enjoy and please let me know if I can help! -Joanie
